Bring on the weekend! An ACTIVE weekend!
For me the weekend is the perfect time to schedule in a good long run, I can take my time, have a great breakfast and post run meal at home and I can even discover more about my own local area by getting lost along the way.
But if I wasn’t training for the half marathon I’d make sure my weekend was full of action and adventure. Turn that lazy day at the beach into some beach volleyball / cricket / frisbee and cool off with a swim or some surfing. That picnic with family or friends can easily include a hike in the national park / forest. Get some friends together for a kick of the football about at the local park.
If you want to get some quality ‘me time’ while being adventurous, why not take your bike out, walk the dog and play ball in the park or for any mums out there - join the kids on the monkey bars and swings.
Enjoy the weekend, make the most of it and have fun while improving your fitness.
