I’ve been gym free for a few months now (not having the expense of £75.00 a month really helps), but I’m facing a long hard road ahead on zero income. This doesn’t mean my workouts will suffer. I have the roads, the trails and the great English countryside all to my avail.
The road is free, the park is free, the stairs are free, the outdoors are free. You can run endless miles on the tarmac, you can do your sprints and workouts on the green grass - barefoot too, you can use every day life as part of your workout - running up and down stairs, push ups on the park bench, and best yet you can surround yourself in adventure on long hikes through the forest, feeling the benefits of that fresh air and the calm and serenity of nature.
I’m in awe of some of the seriously kickass people in this fitness / health / wellbeing blogging / tweeting community - you work so hard, it pays off. You do it whether you have the latest workout kit and technology or not. You do it because YOU want to do it. YOU take the ACTION. You ARE the active lifestyle.
I love all the sporty gadgets and things but I don’t NEED them to live an active lifestyle. I don’t need them to prove anything.
I’m not an athlete training for competition, I’m just a person passionate about living my best life, getting sweaty, feeling the exhilaration and elation of a good workout or run - do I really need to wear the latest technology to shave seconds off my time? No.
